The Project Management Institute (PMI) is the leading and largest global membership association for project management professionals. Founded in 1969, PMI has grown to over 500,000 members in over 160 countries. The association is actively engaged in setting project management standards, providing educational programs and professional certifications that many organizations desire for their project leaders particularly in these challenging times.

The PMI Jamaica Doctor Bird Chapter is the local affiliate of the Project Management Institute (PMI). The local Chapter is a volunteer organization of professional project managers with over 120 members and a much larger mailing list of persons associated with project management. Our Chapter provides for project management training and project management services to government and non-government organizations.

To serve the interests of the collective membership by:

• Advocating acceptance of project management as a profession and discipline in Jamaica
• Fostering and supporting the advancement of the project management practice and the active use of project management principles and practices in organizations in Jamaica
• Advocating the development and career advancement of project leaders and practitioners.
• Fostering and supporting the development and recognition of local expertise and facilitating networking and relationship building in the profession
• Actively supporting the purpose of the PMI and sharing the vision of the PMI with the membership.
